More Precious Than Gold: Faith That Outlasts the Fire
For anyone who is struggling today…
In my Bible study, we’re currently studying 1 & 2 Peter, and this passage from last week’s lesson has stayed with me. It serves as such an important reminder for anyone walking through a season of hardship.
“So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.” (1 Peter 1:6-7)
Peter reminds us that our faith is being tested and refined like gold in a fire. The process is painful, but the purpose is beautiful. God is using even this trial to produce something more precious than gold—a faith that endures and brings Him glory.
So don’t let go. Cling to Him with everything you have! Keep seeking Him, even when you can’t yet see what He’s doing. He is near to the brokenhearted, faithful in every promise, and He never wastes our suffering. He is faithful to reward those who diligently seek Him.
The fire won’t last forever, but what God is producing through it will. 🙌
