A Brief Update

Friday, March 6th, 2009

Just popping in to touch base with everyone.  It’s been sort of a slow week, but I’ve been working on things here and there.  Finished up production on a song for “Luminous” yesterday, which I’m very pleased with.  There’s only one other song that still needs some work, which I’ll most likely finish up after “Seasons” is complete.  Well, you never know for sure, because sometimes there are just those days where I need to step away and work on something different.  I’ll see what I am able to accomplish today, but then I’m taking the weekend off to enjoy time with Jess.  Saturday is our 12 year anniversary, so we are planning some special things.  More on that next week!  Have a great one!

Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

If you listened to my last Blogcast, you might recall me mentioning that I was playing Zelda, Phantom Hourglass on DS.  Well, I just beat it tonight.  Oh, don’t bother to congratulate me, Link really did all the work. ;)   Anyway, it was a great game and if you like that sort of thing, you should definitely pick it up…unless of course your don’t want to fry your brain over the course of a week.  Next up: Kirby, Super Star Ultra.  Well, maybe I’ll hold off a little before getting sucked into another game so soon!

25 Random Things About Me

Valentine’s Day

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

I hope everyone did something special on Valentine’s Day, whether you’re in a relationship or single.  It’s a great day to spoil yourself and the ones you love a little.  Let’s face it, we can always use one more excuse for that!  We certainly had a romantic evening.  First we went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner.  The line was outrageous, but if you’ve ever been there, you know it’s worth the wait!  Afterward we went on a cruise around the bay, which included a live band and dancing.  That was really fun, not to mention, I am always up for a boat ride.  Nothing beats being on the water, no matter what time of day it is!  So peaceful and serene.  Here’s a shot of me from that day.  In case you’re wondering, I made the flower in my hair.  One of my hobbies on the side is making hair accessories, as I love them even more than jewelry!

What a nice surprise…I was listed as a featured artist today on the South China Morning Post podcast!  Basically it’s the leading English publication out of Hong Kong with a circulation of over 100,000.  A clip of my track, “Sweet Sally Lyn”, was used in the podcast with a link to my website.  Check it out!

Joaquin Phoenix

Thursday, February 12th, 2009

As an actor, I adore Joaquin Phoenix.  He is amazing!  But what’s with this recent bout of insanity?  Is it just a publicity stunt?  Is he suffering from mental illness?  Is he on drugs?  Could it be a combination of those?  Who knows, but what I saw on David Letterman last night was disgraceful!  Of course I was initially shocked by Joaquin’s bizarre mannerisms and lack of intelligent communication, but as the segment went on I became more disgusted by David Letterman’s behavior.  Unless this is some sort of hoax, let’s face it, this guy needs help!  Why would a civilized human being enjoy stripping someone of their dignity in front of millions?  If David Letterman had any character whatsoever, he would have cancelled or ended the interview.  This is not entertainment to me.  It’s just sick.

Thoughts For The Day

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

It was pretty cold today…well, for here anyway. It was one of those days where you just feel a chill to the bone. Not even a long blazing hot shower could do the trick. Guess I’m spoiled already!

I spent the better part of the day working on a web project. It’s been such a tedious job working out all the coding and it’s taken me the better part of a week to get near completion. Well, tonight I installed an update and forgot to backup my files and nearly lost everything! You can imagine how I wanted to cry, but I stayed calm and began to think. I remembered backing up a majority of the files earlier in the day and so after some slight adjustments I was back up and running 100% to where I was before! I certainly felt like an angel was watching over me!

Speaking of angels, I’ve been feeling a little sentimental about my time on worship team at the church I attended before moving here. I guess I haven’t allowed myself to think about it too much because I know I’m not going to be able to get into music ministry again for a little while. I can’t begin to express how the experience helped me to grow musically and personally. It’s also a big part of the reason I am able to feel more open than ever before. It’s definitely a time in my life that I will always appreciate!
